Birthdays As An Adult
When we were little kids, birthdays were about themed parties, presents, party favors and cake. Now, as adults, birthdays are about eating and drinking. Specifically where to eat and drink. It is an excuse to splurge on an expensive restaurant or to try something new. Both things I greatly enjoy. Last week was my sister's birthday (I can't believe she is no longer a "-teen"...when did time start moving so fast...). We celebrated with both a dinner and a brunch over the weekend. Dinner was at Gracias Madre, a plant-based Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood-aka vegan food. Really delish, really cool atmosphere, and really can't wait to go there again. For brunch we went to The Old Place, a restaurant that has a pretty cool history-click on the name and you'll see. Twelve years ago my family moved right down the street from it. And believe it or not after years and years of never having tried it, we finally got a taste of the one restaurant that is walking distance from my parent's house! And it was pretty sweet. And salty. And delicious.
